Description

The invasive species project is webpage that will educate people about different aquatic invasive species, their impacts, how to manage them, and how to prevent them from being transported. The webpage will service eduactors, managers, and other outreach personnel by providing information to them.

Purpose and goal of the project

The purpose of the invasive species project is to educate people aquatic invasive species (AIS) impacts and management. This are all critical elements of effective prevention efforts. The webpage also seeks to to enhance the exchange of readily available information, and to help educators, managers and outreach personnel evaluate gaps in existing outreach efforts creating a regional inventory for their materials.

The webpage will feature a searchable inventory of AIS outreach materials that is available to all users. The webpage will also feature a dynamic web interface that allows registered users to input their own educational material and outreach materials. The page will also incorporate a peer review and ratings system for material evaluation, to help maintain a high standard for submissions.
