General Information
Description
ARCOS (applicant reactions cross-cultural organizational studies) was envisioned as a way for researchers from around the world to gather data using similar methodology and to pool their data to create papers on the topics of applicant reactions to selection and, more broadly, fairness. The idea came from a session in Greece in the summer of 2006 which was held at the International Congress of Applied Psychology (ICAP). Looking at the presenters and at people in the room, it became clear that an International effort would be desirable and possible. Over beers at an outdoor restaurant following the session, the idea was discussed and we agreed to pursue it. Thus, ARCOS and ARCLS (applicant reactions cross-cultural lab studies) were born.
